Tailgating before a football game started to take off during the 1980’s and 1990’s as a social movement of sorts. As gas grills became more portable, rows of parking lots transformed into communities. These “communities” transformed into rivalries between fans of the different teams.
As your host, I am planning to go to various football games in different cities to join the pre-game festivities know as tailgating. Tailgating consists of barbequing, eating, drinking, playing music and having a great time. For some this is more fun than attending the game itself.
My role is to crash the party. Get an insight as to why they do this and how much fun it can be. It’s an addiction of sorts. Players strive for success on the field, the fans strive for success before the game in the parking lot. I will strive for success and bring it all home for the viewers. |
