Biography:

Joan Macbeth writes because she hears voices. Urged to write comedy by her marriage counsellor, but possessing Gemini tendencies, she vents her anger writing both comedies and more serious fare. In fact, Ms. Macbeth is bi-postal; with homes in Vancouver, Canada and near Portland, Oregon. Her screenplay “Evangelina” won second place in the Pacific Northwest Writers Association literary contest and was a semi-finalist in Scriptapalooza.

Synopsis 1:

Evangelina’s grandmothers can’t stand each other. Eve is Jewish, Angela is Catholic, and they’ve been fighting over Evangelina since the day she was born. On Evangelina’s thirteenth birthday, her grandmothers are struck by lightning and God makes them her guardian angels. They continue to bicker and bungle, causing Evangelina more harm than good. Her guilt over the death of her grandmothers drives Evangelina Goth. When Satan arrives to kidnap Evangelina, her inept guardian angels must learn to put aside their differences to save their granddaughter’s virtue, and perhaps the world.

Synopsis 2: Julie’s brother calls her after 19 years to tell her their father died while on vacation with their mother in Florida. He wants Julie to drive their mother home to Oregon, even though Julie hasn’t been on speaking terms with her family for years. She reluctantly agrees, but no one tells Julie her mother has Alzheimer’s. As they drive across country, Julie tries to pawn off her mother on other relatives, including her sister in New Orleans who involves Julie and their mother in a crime spree. Julie comes to terms with her failed relationships, finds love and discovers you can go home again. If you can find it.

Synopsis3:

A young man living free in the wilds of post-apocalyptic America falls in love with a woman confined to a genetically-controlled reproduction facility run by the totalitarian government of Cascadia. Their unborn child becomes a pawn in the endgame for a new world order in this allegory of freedom vs. tyranny.
